The Hotels

In Torino, there is only one hotel that brings together rock stars on tour, visiting football players from Juventus, and all others who have an eye for history, proximity and high thread count. It’s the Principi di Piemonte, a monument to Italian brutalism that has been converted to Torino’s finest hotel, in the middle of everything.

Hotel Bellevue, a boutique old-world property in the shadow of the Gran Paradiso Glacier, is both deeply connected to the Alpen landscape and yet stands completely apart. Is it a good place to lounge by a crackling fire with a glass of some crisp and toothsome vino bianco while staring out across the high-altitude national park? Yes, yes it is.

The Piedmont’s Cascina Galarej is everything you want from a grand resort in the wine country. It’s located on the grounds of the royal estate at Fontanafredda, in league there with the legendary restaurant Guido. But for all the long heritage of its environs, Cascina Galarej is a new property, with complete modern comfort and, of course, a very deep wine list.
