Description

Presented by Roads & Kingdoms, The Anti-ICE Supper Club is a series of fundraising dinners in support of local organizations defending communities under attack—our small but vital contribution to the fight for immigrant America.

The series continues in Mexico City in collaboration with two extraordinary restaurants, Baldío and Expendio de Maíz. The dinner will feature a special tasting menu the restaurants created together, accompanied by house ferments, mezcal, wine, cocktails, beer, and pulque.

When: March 26, 2026: 4 pm & 8 pm seatings only. More information + tickets here

Where: Antonio Sola 26 Colonia Condesa Cuauhtémoc, Ciudad de México, CDMX.

Net proceeds benefit: The Mexico City chapter of Al Otro Lado, a community-based organization founded in Tijuana whose mission is to uplift migrant communities on both sides of the U.S.–Mexico border. Al Otro Lado defends the rights of immigrants, refugees, and deported people in our communities in Mexico in an era of increasingly unjust immigration laws. “We believe in community, in empathy, and in creating spaces where migrants feel welcomed, valued, and supported.”

—Brittney Anda, Expendio de Maíz

“To suggest that restaurants and food cannot—or should not—serve as political platforms is, at this moment, a naïve position,” says Baldío’s Pablo Usobiaga. “In times like these, silence is not neutrality; it is complicity. For this reason, Baldío joins this initiative to express active solidarity with affected communities and to contribute, from its own sphere, to their defense and support.”

Baldío marks the next chapter for Arca Tierra, a leader in regenerative agriculture and Xochimilco chinampa conservation, and Silo London, a pioneer in sustainable gastronomy. With Arca Tierra as its dedicated sourcing department, Baldío embodies 15 years of efforts to build a regenerative food system. It all begins in Xochimilco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an ideal setting for the restaurant team to learn ancestral farming techniques and harvest the produce directly used in their kitchen. Sourcing exclusively from local producers, the menu highlights the seasonal diversity of ingredients, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary vision.

Expendio de Maíz is the sum of the efforts that begin in the countryside of farmers’ families clinging to the cultural heritage and rural identity of the original towns of Mexico. This continues with the recollection and traceability of food around a group of cooks that attempt to communicate through a small window. With no menu they invite people to experience different dishes where rural in-season ingredients are used. Their ethos is based on biodiversity—demand for certain ingredients are increased to support purveyors’ families directly in Mexico.
