Description
Presented by Roads & Kingdoms, The Anti-ICE Supper Club is a series of fundraising dinners in support of local organizations defending communities under attack—our small but vital contribution to the fight for immigrant America.
New Orleans is a city that has always known that the party is inseparable from the struggle. At a time when ICE Detention Centers in Louisiana are disappearing immigrants from around the country, we are honored to partner with the NOLA hospitality community to raise funds for an organization providing crucial legal services and representation to those being detained without due process. On night three, celebrated chef Nini Nguyen welcomes guests to Đặc Biệt Supper Club for an intimate, family-style dinner rooted in her Vietnamese and New Orleans upbringing. Driven by season and whatever Nini is excited about cooking at the moment, the menu will move from lighter dishes into richer flavors, ending with dessert. Wine pairings will be curated by Patron Saint. Seating is very limited.
When: Wednesday, October 28th, 6:30-9:30 pm
Where: Đặc Biệt Cooking Studio, located in the Uptown/Freret area (exact address will be sent to attendees before the event).
*Please note: Đặc Biệt Cooking Studio is not open to the public. For privacy and security, the location and nature of the property must remain confidential. Guests are welcome to share photos from inside the dinner, but the address, exterior, identifying location details, or anything that could reveal the studio’s location may not be shared publicly or on social media.
Tickets: $500 per person, includes a nine-dish family-style dinner with wine pairings curated by Patron Saint.
Net proceeds benefit Immigration Services and Legal Advocacy (ISLA), which offers free legal services under a universal representation model to detained immigrants across Louisiana. Detention centers are located throughout rural areas in Louisiana; the closest is three hours from New Orleans. Your support helps ensure that financial barriers and geographic distance do not prevent immigrants from accessing legal services and pursuing immigration relief. If you cannot attend, but would like to support, please donate here.
“Hospitality is about taking care of people and making them feel safe and welcome. For me, that means standing with the people who make our restaurants, kitchens, and communities what they are.”
