Description
Presented by Roads & Kingdoms, The Anti-ICE Supper Club is a series of fundraising dinners in support of local organizations defending communities under attack—our small but vital contribution to the fight for immigrant America.
New Orleans is a city that has always known that the party is inseparable from the struggle. At a time when ICE Detention Centers in Louisiana are disappearing immigrants from around the country, we are honored to partner with the NOLA hospitality community to raise funds for an organization providing crucial legal services and representation to those being detained without due process. We close out our NOLA run with a proper backyard party at Bacchanal, a place that really needs no introduction. A Bywater institution for nearly twenty-five years, Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits will serve up some of their favorite wines alongside meats and seasonal vegetables grilled slowly over an open fire. Join us for a laid-back Thursday night throw-down to raise money for ISLA, an organization very close to managing partner Joaquin Rodas’ heart.
When: Thursday, October 29th, 6:30 – 9:30 pm
Where: Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits: 600 Poland Ave, New Orleans
Tickets: $100 per person, includes food, live music, and one welcome drink. Cash bar to follow.
Net proceeds benefit Immigration Services and Legal Advocacy (ISLA), which offers free legal services under a universal representation model to detained immigrants across Louisiana. Detention centers are located throughout rural areas in Louisiana; the closest is three hours from New Orleans. Your support helps ensure that financial barriers and geographic distance do not prevent immigrants from accessing legal services and pursuing immigration relief. If you cannot attend, but would like to support, please donate here.
“Both owners being from El Salvador and having deep relationships with ISLA, this is the best excuse to partner with Roads & Kingdoms and throw a big old backyard party for a great cause.”
— Joaquin Rodas, Bacchanal
Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits is a beloved backyard wine garden and live music venue located in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. Opened in 2002, it functions as a bottle shop, a restaurant, and an open-air concert space. Guests pick out bottles of wine from over 400 low-intervention options inside, grab self-serve ice buckets and glassware, and head out to a sprawling, tree-shaded courtyard filled with mismatched patio furniture. Bacchanal’s identity was deeply shaped by the post-Katrina era, when “Bacchanal Sundays” served as an original pop-up where local guest chefs cooked for the community. That makeshift, rebellious spirit eventually led to a year-long legal battle with City Hall over operating permits before it officially legalized its vibrant outdoor setup. Today, Chef Matt Kohl anchors the kitchen with celebrated charcuterie plates, Mediterranean-influenced small plates, and hot dishes like grilled hanger steak, while up-and-coming jazz and brass acts perform on the outdoor stage every single night.
