WHAT TO DRINK: Vinho verde at Éden Aparthotel
Try Portugal’s classic light sparkling wine on the rooftop of the Eden, an art-deco former theater, now a hotel. Vinho verde, which comes from the north of Portugal, is wine harvested when the grapes are young: the ‘verde’ of the title means the grapes are green. It comes in white and red, but white is by far the most popular. The view and the hotel’s surprisingly unpretentious attitude and prices are as refreshing as the wine.
