Wide, Wild Tasmania

Mar 1-8, 2025

A full-throated celebration of Tasmania, an island of big landscapes, pure waters, and absurdly good produce. Leading this trip are Palisa Anderson, the pioneering Sydney-based farmer and restaurateur, and Nathan Thornburgh, longtime foreign correspondent and co-founder of Roads & Kingdoms. From island-hopping to leisurely breakfasts overlooking Mount Wellington to intimate dining experiences with local culinary luminaries curated by Roads & Kingdoms, every moment is a celebration of Tasmania’s rich products and human geography.

R&K Trip Itinerary

This journey is meant to bring you into close quarters with the luminaries of Tasmanian cuisine and products. Cheese, charcuterie, uni, abalone, plums, apples, wine—oh my goodness the wine—this island, almost as big as the Republic of Ireland, is blessed beyond measure. But it’s the people who make this place special. The visionaries and dropouts and savants who populate our time in Tasmania are all part of the beautiful life of Palisa Anderson—an icon in Australia’s Thai food scene—and the Roads and Kingdoms world.
