Justin Fornal Justin Fornal is an explorer and freelance contributor to National Geographic. He has led expeditions in over 20 countries. During a recent project he tracked down the alleged skull of historic figure Nat Turner and returned it to the Turner descendants. In summer 2017, Fornal completed the first circumnavigational swim around Islay, Scotland. During the swim he filled a 30 gallon oak cask with whisky from the island’s 8 distilleries. Fornal is currently a ‘Resident Fellow’ at the Explorer’s Club.
