Photo Editor, NY

Roads & Kingdoms is looking to hire a photo editor to work on its award-winning online magazine and its sister site Explore Parts Unknown.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience working in the photo department of a print or online publication and has a wide, international network of photographers. She/he is a self-starter who is comfortable working in a small team and can solve problems creatively. The position requires working closely with the editors of the two websites as well as far-flung freelance photographers. She/he must have a keen attention to detail and experience in travel and food journalism.

Responsibilities include:
-Commissioning photographers to shoot various types of stories
-Photo research, sourcing, and image selection
-Editing photo essays
-Writing/editing articles based around photo essays
-Researching new photographer talent
-Overseeing Instagram accounts
-Web producing and video skills are a plus

Must be based in our New York office.
